Happy New Year!

....to all visitors old and new.  2011 is going to be a big year in the Mosley household.  Life is changing...... it is the year of GCSEs and A levels, children becoming adults and leaving school days behind, changes on the job front and new things happening...or at least an idea that has been germinating for some time now is coming to fruition.

Many moons ago I designed my first set of greetings cards and instantly sold them to a small independent retailer....only 12 designs in all (and I have no idea if they sold any to the public!) but it was an instant sale and a real ego booster!

Then, I found the Greeting Cards Association and subscribed to their publication - Progressive Greetings.  I started to look into the ins and outs of how to go about designing and publishing my own cards.

At first the idea was just a tiny seed and probably wasn't going to go anywhere.   BUT then at the end of last year I took a train all the way down to Southend and attended the Ladder Club seminar run by Lynn Tait.  I had an amazing and extremely informative time.  A very enjoyable and very welcoming 2 days where I met a lot of wonderful dynamic people and soaked in tons of information about the greeting cards' world.

I was totally inspired and the tiny shoot of an idea became stronger and taller and started to sprout leaves.......or more precisely I visited my local library and borrowed and read book after book about turning a hobby into a business.   The thought of business plans, cash flow statements and financial forecasting was a bit daunting at first but as the jargon became more familiar the tiny shoot of an idea has become strong enough to be called a stalk and hopefully will one day hold leaves and buds and maybe even eventually huge beaming sunflowers!
I don't think I can take this analogy much further!!!!!!!!

Simply put  I am about to set off on the adventure of developing and running my own greeting cards business.....and this blog is going to become a record of the ups and downs (hopefully more of the former than the latter!) and all the little steps on the way.

So may I introduce you to...................
KT Mo Designs - cards full of colour quality and creativity..... just for you!

I am currently working on 2 ranges of 12 designs each and re-vamping the old website.  I shall be posting a sneaky preview in the near future.
Keep checking in for more of the day to day adventures!
