Now that was......

...stressful! ....and I've done it all wrong! ....but at least its up there......the all new singing and dancing etsy shop that is .....with all of 1 item in it. .... the berries design card...

I couldn't cope with anything more and then realised I needed to photo the actual item rather than upload the scanned image.... oops!

So it will now have to wait until I get round to photo-ing each of the cards before I list any more items. Which I think will now have to be a job for the new year.

Still KT Mo Designs now has its own shop from where you can purchase the above card and eventually you will be able to purchase individual cards and card sets and who knows what else besides!!

The link to the etsy shop is here feel free to check it out ....though the choice is rather limited at the moment!!

More fun.....

....with photoshop and an old watercolour sketch. It'a about all I can muster this weekend which has mainly been serious chill time after a ridiculously tiring week!

Busy week....

........ending with a visit to Todart to set up my mother's paintings (and my lighthouse collage) for a weekend exhibition. The show seemed less busy than usual this year which was a shame.

Still playing with photoshop in my spare time!

Yesterday....

....was meet the artist day at the Reveal exhibition at Bankfield Museum in Halifax. It was great to meet up again with all the "Revealers" (good name Jan!) and to chat to people who are textile enthusiasts....very rewarding!
In all the excitement and bustle I forgot to ask everyone if I could post photos of the exhibition but as its now been on public display for almost a month and hoping my photo shots don't detract too much from the wonderful work on display I attach a few photos below - sorry I can't show all the work as most of my photots didn't turn out well.

Janet Andrew

Fiona Rainford

The exhibition is on till the 2nd Nov. if you're in the area and want to call by.

Back to the drawing .....

.....and photochopping. I have a real fascination for faces at the moment.

Took a trip....

....to Bankfield today. It was lovely to go into the exhibition space without all the pressure of an opening and the bustle of a lot of people (luckily I just managed to avoid a group of 32 children who had just visited!) I took a lot of photos but unfortunately the lighting/my camera skills are not particulary good and the photos are a bit dark. You can get an idea of my exhibit from these images but I won't post the rest until I have everyone's permission.

Heard recently....

....that I have been accepted to place some work into the Shop in Show at the Designer Crafts exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London in Jan. 2009. Great to have another excuse for a trip down to London.

....that northernskydesign have launched their outlet and graphic studio at Botany Bay with an online shop to follow shortly. They are featuring and promoting the work of northern artists including some of my work having seen it recently at the Saltaire Arts Trail. I wish them every success in their venture!

....that my Karin Erikson olive bowl set has arrived and is waiting to be collected at Hannah Nunn's gallery and workshop in Hebden Bridge.

Lots of good things happening all round!
Going to visit Bankfield tomorrow and take some photos....so will be posting some pictures tomorrow.
But because I cant' bear to post without any picture at all .....here's two I prepared earlier...both drawn from images on the net and then photochopped around a little.

Phew!......

its taken me almost a week to recover from all the last minute preparations, three days at Fashion Embroidery and Stitch, the opening of the Reveal exhibition (which was a lovely event) and a mini trip to London during which I managed to see the first week exhibitors at Origin Crafts at Somerset House. Its been a whirlwind few days with hardly any time to breathe and I'm looking forward to a lazy weekend catching up on sleep.

This was my stand at Harrogate where I spent 2 days (my husband covered the 3rd) meeting lots of very nice people saying lots of very nice things about my work.......talk about an ego boost!! I can thoroughly recommend it!
My day off was spent at Bankfield. It was great to meet up with (nearly) all the Reveal group members and see all our work on show for the first time. We didn't start with a common theme or overall concept or even colour scheme for the exhibition and so it is amazing to see it all come together. I hope I'm not being too immodest ...but it looks fabulous. It feels great to be part of it all.

Been to ....

Harrogate today to set up for this lovely exhibition....

which is due to start tomorrow.
On the way back called into Bankfield where the Reveal exhibition is almost ready to go..... its going to be a very busy weekend, should be fun!

Feeling a little lost....

...'cos all the work for Bankfield has been completed, packed up and delivered ready for the show opening on 3rd October, and the work for Fashion and Embroidery is finished and waiting to be taken to Harrogate on Thursday and my sewing machine is enjoying a hard earned rest.

Here's a copy of the flyer for the Bankfield exhibition which gives you a little taster of the wide variety of work that will be on show. I'll post some more pictures after the weekend.

An enjoyable time.....

..... was had by all at the Saltaire Arts Festival this year. The sun shone, the crowds came, artwork was sold and there were lots of smiley faces. It really was a feel good occasion. I shared an open house with a lot of lovely artists all featured on our own dedicated open house website - 6 Harold Place - the brainchild of Paula and Nick the owners of no. 6 who very kindly let us and numerous members of the public share their house for two whole weekends.

...finished my entry to one moly exchange book and received another which is waiting patiently for me to begin work on it

.....continued to work furiously on the Bankfield work -final date for delivery of work 25th Sept - hence broken sewing machine and slight signs of panic setting in.

Tomorrow I get my sewing machine back!!!

Tuesday, 9 September 2008

Long time no post....

...and too busy really but just quickly popping in to post a picture of Melissa's moly which belatedly I have added my little bit. The book is looking really good ..... everyone has a distinctive style of their own and all together they look great!

Saturday, 23 August 2008

A couple.....

.....more photos of Greece to remind me and show you where I was this time last week

..it all seems very far away now!
There was though some good news on my return......the butterfly hanging was accepted into the Platform Gallery Open Exhibition. I'm dead chuffed! I've got to deliver it to the Gallery next week and the exhibition starts 13th September.......details here
...and now I am turning my thoughts....just got to make myself do the work!!.... to the Saltaire Arts Trail and deciding what to exhibit there and trying to find time to finish the Bankfield work...I only hope I can get it all done in time.

Been off planet...

....for a while...

...well not quite this far

but far enough away to relax and soak up the sun and enjoy the idyllic scenery. Here's a little taster....

....now trying to come back down to earth!!

Tuesday, 5 August 2008

Not a lot ......

.....of housework being done at my house at the moment!!! Too busy having fun trying out some new techniques!!

both these were drawn from images on the net.

Sunday, 3 August 2008

Just quickly....

....adding a photo of the whole moly so far so that you can see the work of all contributors...check out the moly X25 blog for more shots of this and all the other books in our group.

Thought I would.....

....post the final version of my latest moly entry here as well as on the moly blog given that the working draft appears below somewhere.

It has to be posted off tomorrow and I'm still mulling over whether to add the paw prints and if so how best to do that. The ones in the draft are way too clumsy and not placed well. Maybe I'll experiment a bit more if there's time....?
